Textiles with a Story
Cloth is all around us, woven into the bones of our lives and homes. Finding the perfect fabric to surround ourselves with day in and day out, can boost our moods and bring comfort. Through colours and materials choices, textiles can tell the story of a home. Taking inspiration from the location, character and existing motifs and textures, bespoke cloth is unique to each home.
Millie works with you to create fabric that captures the essence of your home. She offers bespoke cloth by the meter or made into finished products such as cushions, blankets, lampshades and more.
How it works…
Design & Development
The design process starts with initial discussions about your home, what products or type of cloth you are interested in as well as any colour directions. If you’re unsure of what you are after, Millie can help guide you through this process, picking out details from your home to compliment. Following this, Millie will explore the ideas though drawing and yarn wraps and colour swatches, before hand weaving fabric samples for you to choose from.
Final Samples
Once you have reviewed the initial samples, Millie can refine and adjust any colour or textures before creating the final samples. If you are having products made, you will be provided with visualisations of the products at scale and have the chance to discuss an extra details such as trims, cushion backings and openings etc.
Production
With all design work completed, Millie will now get to work weaving your beautiful new fabric! All fabrics are woven on traditional 4 and 8 shaft looms, up to a width of 30”. The timescale for this will be different for each project and depend on the quantity and complexity of the design. Once woven, your cloth will be washed and finished, as well as made into products if desired, ready for your home.

Madryn
Bespoke cushions designed for a converted Welsh chapel. The colours were influenced by the clients love for an old antique green and the vibrant green landscape surrounding the home. Using waffle weave, the pattern mimicked the texture of stone walls and floors.
