Picnic at Pensons

March - May 2020

Brief: A live brief with Michelin star restaurant Pensons, responding to the surroundings of the Netherwood estate and the Pensons’ menu, considering their ethos of sustainability and seasonal, locally grown produce.

Concept: Taking inspiration form their menu, I created a range of S/S woven samples, in bright and bold colours. Focusing on using natural dyes such as Madder and Safflower, I dyed both warp and weft to bring a light summer feel to the samples. Using my love for Carthenni as inspiration, I visualised my samples as picnic blankets.

Techniques used: Block Draft, Inlay, Naturally dyeing warp + weft.
